VOLTA

VOLTA Art Fair is an international contemporary art fair dedicated to powering artistic discovery. It offers a dynamic space to explore the emerging contemporary art market, making it approachable and engaging. Located in pivotal art cities, VOLTA champions a diverse and international selection of galleries, presenting a quietly disruptive alternative to the traditional art fair model. 

VOLTA debuted in Basel in 2005 as an art fair collaboration between dealers and friends. The aim was to secure a platform for international galleries beyond young art fair Liste and market heavyweight Art Basel. VOLTA’s New York fair followed in 2008, offering a boutique alternative to the larger fairs.

In autumn 2019, VOLTA joined the Ramsay Fairs portfolio, and continues to be the platform for younger galleries to participate in the art markets’ major cities.

Presenting visionary projects from galleries at the cutting edge of contemporary art, VOLTA Art Fair returns to Basel in 2025 from 18 – 22 June at Congress Center Basel, Messeplatz 10, 4005 Basel.
